The 2025 season

Bowls: A Sport for All

Bowls can be played by individuals of all ages, regardless of gender. Some participants transition from other sports, while others new to sports find themselves adept at this game.

Learning to play bowls can be achieved in a day, though mastering it may take much longer. The game requires concentration, determination, and practice. It has been found beneficial for flexibility, wellbeing, and general health.

Bowls offers a fun and social experience, making it accessible to everyone.

Interested - What next?

To get started, players only need flat shoes. With basic equipment provided and guidance available for newcomers, it's easy to begin.

The first two taster sessions are offered free of charge.

What does it cost?

Bowls is affordable with membership fees set at £85 per season, discounted to £50 for the first year which allows you to have a “roll up” at any time a rink is available.

Equipment can initially be borrowed and purchased later either new or second hand from various sources.

Come along and try for FREE! any Friday evening from 6pm.

If you would like to try the game of lawn bowls, please come along to the green for our Friday Club night from 6.00 pm. Access to the green is at the far end of the Swimming Pool in Station Road, just behind the “Men in Sheds” building.
